I've only eaten breakfast here (I'm through this area in the morning hours) but several times. It's always been very good and I've never been disappointed. Good service and friendly staff.

Stoped their yesterday on our way to a Gators game and it was a horrible experience all the way around. First of it's a an old run down building that needs to be updated badly. The floors were disgustingly dirty and the amount of filth was just gross. We sat in the back part of the restaurant bus to it being so busy and to start out with the can light above our table wasn't even in place and left part of the ceiling/attic exposed so god only knows what could fall down onto the table. Beside that was a water stain on the ceiling where a hole was punched for I'm guessing water to drain and just looked nasty. Our waitress was WEIRD and wasn't really keeping up with the back part of the restaurant at all. Next our waitress brought out a nasty (very moldy) plastic bucket that was used to buss the tables and everyone in the back dining room was very turned off by this and the couple behind us even made a comment about it. So fast forward a couple a minutes later after the couple behind us gets their food they call over our weird waitress and show her a very long hair that was in the woman's food and it even made our waitress cringe. Next our food comes out and I got the breakfast stacker that had hash browns, sausage, onions, tomatoes, cheese, scrambled eggs, and was covered in white gravy. Not only did it sound good but it looked good when it was brought out. Well looks are very deceiving for all this goodness to be on a plate it had ZERO FLAVOR... I couldn't believe it. Might as well been eating a plate of flavorless mush. My girl wasn't overly pleased with her grilled pork chops and also complained about the flavorless eggs and home fries she got. The biscuits which once again looked amazing were a big bust. They were almost cold and starting to harden and also flavorless like the rest of the meal.

I don't like writing bad reviews but this place doesn't even deserves 1 star. It was completely horrible and I wouldn't recommend stopping there. The chain joints down the road will serve you a better breakfast. Also the health department needs to go look at this place. There are some serious violations in this place that could get people sick or worse. I'm usually a fan of small mom and pop/hole in the wall joints but this is one you should STAY AWAY FROM AT ALL COST! We will not be back.

I drive to Stark for breakfast at Grannies about once a month to meet my brother from Jacksonville. We like local owned businesses and this place is as local as it gets, in all the best ways. It's truly a "home town" place to eat. Staff is friendly and waitresses always make conversation. Yes it's Stark, southern cooking with no regard for fat and calorie counts. Fried chicken always made to order. 20 minutes, and worth the wait! No rebel flags, comments, side looks, or feeling ... you ain't from around here. Just a laid back small town place. Sits right on the highway, so locals and drivers passing by stop in. Hope you have the same experience as I have.
    Price: $$ 1/2 of 5.
Restroom is small single use. :(

Gave the waitress an excellent tip because I got to leave but she had to stay and sorta kinda work, and I knew I would never be back. Food took an unreasonably long time to arrive and was cold. Omelette had a piece of processed cheese slice on it, fresh out of the plastic wrapper. No real butter or cream for coffee. Place could use someone with a bottle of Windex and some paper towels. I understand from someone else that this location is nothing like the original, but I'm not sure I would take a chance.
